Usually historical films can bore me or I loose attention but this was such a captivating film that I was completely engaged and engrossed in the movie. George McKay and Dean-Charles Chapman have absolutely done justice to their roles. Not for a single second you will feel they have detached from the character. The editing of the film is done such incredibly that the entire film looks like one shot. This is a great show put up to get idea about what happened back then and how these two gentlemen hold the entire film together. Another film you should definitely add in you 'Must-Watch' list.

Started off so well with both story and visually but then just went down hill from there. Scenes set were very good and almost felt like you were there. I don't normally gush about films, but "1917" is a singular masterpiece of cinema, which draws you into the action, the drama, the tragedy, the bleakness and the beauty. It never cuts away. It takes you on a journey into one day of the Great War, to witness the quiet and simply stated heroism of those who lived through the War. "1917" isn't so much a war film as it is a gripping and immersive experience, which holds onto you until the very end. It is the best film I've seen in years.

Fascinating endeavor, hollow in execution. Recall all those meaningful, character building and surprising twists of Saving Private Ryan? None of those exist in this film.
